Ballynacuaig (Gaelic for House of the Cuckoo). This cottage is affectionately know locally as the kennels cottage, as it was occupied for many years by the estate game keeper and has the old kennels building nearby. The Mains started life as a farm building, and now we've made it into two delightful studio cottages.  Each cottage comprises a large bed /sitting room with integral kitchen.  In the style of the Scottish bothies, the double bed is a snug 'box bed' arrangement, tucked into its own recess and curtained off - but with plenty of storage space. The living area is delightfully furnished with TV, video, & music centre .

You're on the wooded east coast of Kintyre, right on the sandy beach, facing the Isle of Arran and adjacent to the thriving fishing village of Carradale. The river Carra runs beside the site, the bay is safe for swimming and boats can be launched from the site. Apart from the opportunity for sea angling, fishing is also permitted in the river Carra. So you could hardly find a place more suited to an energetic family outdoor holiday.
