County Tipperary is a county in the Republic of Ireland situated in the province of Munster. Tipperary was one of the first Irish counties to be established in the 13th century. For all government administration purposes the county is divided into North Tipperary (county town: Thurles) and South Tipperary (county town: Clonmel). This division dates back to the Local Government (Ireland) Act 1898, the county's two "ridings" having had separate assize courts for much longer.

Bansha is a village in south-west County Tipperary in the Republic of Ireland and forms part of the Roman Catholic parish of Bansha & Kilmoyler (united in 1858). Bansha is co-extensive with the pre-Reformation parish of Templeneiry of which the townland name of Templenahurney is thought to be a corruption. While the village is the focal point of the area, there is also an outlying hamlet in the parish, located at Rossadrehid where a rural creamery once serviced the flourishing dairy industry.

Cahir is a town in South Tipperary, Ireland. The town is best known for Cahir Castle, built on an island in the River Suir, near the centre of the town, and the Swiss cottage.

Carrick-on-Suir is a town in County Tipperary, Ireland. As the name – meaning "rock of the suir" – suggests, the town is situated on the River Suir. The CSO 2006 Census of the town gives the population as 5,906 (including suburbs or environs) and shows that it has grown by 5.7% since 2002.

Cashel is a town in County Tipperary, in the southern midlands of the Republic of Ireland, which is also the episcopal see of a Roman Catholic archbishopric (though the cathedral is in Thurles) and of an Anglican bishop (who is also bishop of Ossory and as such resides in Kilkenny). Population 11,400. The town is just off the N8 route from Dublin to Cork. Cashel is particularly renowned for the Rock of Cashel, a site hosting a ruined church and fortifications, formerly the seat of the Irish kings of Munster.

Clonmel in County Tipperary, is the largest inland town in the Republic of Ireland. It is the county seat of South Tipperary County Council. The town lies mainly on the northern bank of the River Suir with a smaller section south of the river. It lies in a valley, surrounded by mountains and hills. The Comeragh Mountains are to the south, while northeast of the town is Slievenamon. The town has an honoured place in Irish history as having braved and withstood the Cromwellian forces which sacked both Drogheda and Wexford.

Cloughjordan  in North County Tipperary, Ireland is situated in the north-west part of North Tipperary close to the Offaly border. It is almost equidistant from Nenagh, Roscrea and Birr and is close to Ireland's largest river, the Shannon, and Lough Derg. The alternate spelling 'Cloghjordan' is recognised.

Dundrum is a village in County Tipperary 14 km (9 mi) west of Cashel. It is situated at the junction of the R505 and R661 regional roads. The old Main Street (on the R505 road to Cashel) is in the eastern end of village and is the site of some new housing developments. Dundrum House Hotel and Golf Course lie just outside the village boundary on the R505 and are connected to the village by a fine avenue of mature lime trees lining the road on both sides.

Fethard is a town in County Tipperary, Ireland 16 km (10 mi) east of Cashel. It is situated on the Clashawley River where the R692, R689 and R706 regional roads intersect. The town is particularly remarkable for having been heavily fortified and completely surrounded by town walls to keep out the English, which can still be seen today. Knockelly Castle, a well fortified tower house is one of many historical buildings in the area.

The village of Golden is situated on the River Suir in south west County Tipperary. It is located between Cashel and Tipperary Town on the N74 road and in older times was known as Goldenbridge.

Nenagh is a town in North Tipperary, Ireland. It is the capital town of North Tipperary and unofficially of the whole county. It has a population in 2006 of 7,415.[1] It lies on the Nenagh River, which empties into Lough Derg at Dromineer, 9 km to the north-west, a popular centre for sailing and other water sports. The Silvermines mountains lie to the south of the town, with the highest peak being Keeper Hill (Sliabh Ciamalta in Irish) at 694m. The Silvermines Mountains have witnessed mining for silver and base metals on and off over seven hundred years. Traces of 19th century mine workings remain.

Newport is a town in County Tipperary, Ireland, approximately 8 km from Birdhill and 16 km from Limerick City. The Mulcair River flows through Newport, splitting the town into two. Newport is located amongst the Silvermines mountain range. Located in North Tipperary, it is under North Tipperary County Council.

Roscrea is a small town in County Tipperary, Republic of Ireland, located near the midlands. Historically Roscrea has been an important trading town. Roscrea has a population of 4,170 and it is located in the south midlands, 44 miles from Limerick City and 76 miles from Dublin City. Its main industries include meat processing and pharmaceuticals.

Thurles is a town in County Tipperary, Ireland, situated on the River Suir, with a population of around 8,000. Geographically, Thurles is the largest town in North Tipperary and is surrounded by the Silvermines which are mountains to the north-west and the Slieveardagh Hills to the south-east. The town itself nestles in the heart of the beautiful Suir Valley. The mild climate and the waters of the River Suir have combined to produce some of the finest agricultural land in the world.

Tipperary is a town in the south-west of County Tipperary, Republic of Ireland with a population of c.5,000 within the urban environs. It is often mistaken as the county capital, which has never been the case. North Tipperary and South Tipperary, have their administrative centres of Nenagh and Clonmel respectively. However, it has a large agricultural catchment area in West County Tipperary and East County Limerick and was historically a market town of some significance. It still boasts an extensive butter-making and milk processing industry today.
