County Offaly is a county in Leinster, Ireland, bordered by seven other counties: Galway, Roscommon, Westmeath, Meath, Kildare, Laois, and Tipperary. The southern part of the county is occupied by the Slieve Bloom Mountains, the northwestern part is the floodplain of the River Shannon and the remainder consists of large bogs including the Bog of Allen and Boora Bog. A notable tourist attraction is the narrow gauge Clonmacnoise and West Offaly Railway in Blackwater Bog.

Banagher is a town in the Republic of Ireland, located on the western edge of County Offaly in the midlands of Ireland. Banagher was originally built to guard a crossing point on the nearby River Shannon just south of River Brosna and Shannon converging point. The town is the home of the Banagher Concrete Group, the company who made the blocks and internal rings for the Channel Tunnel.

Birr is a designated Irish Heritage Town with a carefully preserved Georgian heritage. Birr itself has graceful wide streets and elegant buildings. Many of the houses in John's Place and Oxmantown Mall have exquisite fanlight windows of the Georgian period.

Clara is a town on the River Brosna in County Offaly in the midlands of Ireland. Clara is situated in the north of County Offaly near the border with County Westmeath, on national route N80 some 12 km northwest of Tullamore. Situated on a plain, the town is in reality an urban centre surrounded by a series of mini-villages.

Cloghan is a town in County Offaly, Republic of Ireland, located at the intersection of the N62 National secondary road and the R356 and R357 regional roads. It is one of the few places in the world in which a traffic roundabout is called "The Square".

Daingean, formerly Philipstown, is a small town in east County Offaly, Ireland. It is situated midway between the towns of Tullamore and Edenderry on the R402 regional road. The town or townland of Daingean has a population (2002) of 777 [1] while the District Electoral Division ( DED) has a total population of 1168

Edenderry is a town in the north of County Offaly, Ireland. It is near the borders with Counties Kildare and Westmeath. The Grand Canal passes immediately south of the town and there is a short spur to the town centre. The R401 road from Kinnegad to the north and the R402 from Enfield to the east join at the north eastern end of the Main St. At the Grand Canal they separate, with the R402 continuing westwards towards Tullamore and the R410 heads south to Rathdangan and Kildare Town.

Ferbane is a small town on the north bank of the River Brosna in County Offaly, Republic of Ireland, between Birr and Athlone at the junction of the N62 National secondary road and the R436 regional road. The name of the town is said to come from the white bog cotton which grows abundantly in the surrounding Bog Of Allen.

Horseleap is a town situated upon the Offaly, Westmeath county border in Ireland, on the R446, formerly the main Dublin to Galway road. The village itself possesses a church, primary school, a garden centre, a pub, and a petrol station. Horseleap dates back to the 12th century steeped in Ui Neill, Geoghegan history.

Moneygall  is a small town in County Offaly, Ireland, on the N7 route between Dublin and Limerick, on the County Tipperary/Offaly border. While the village is located in County Offaly the Gaelic Athletic Association playing field is located in County Tipperary. It has a population of approximately 300 people.

Shannonbridge is a village located on the River Shannon, at the junction of the R444 and R357 regional roads in County Offaly, in the centre of Ireland. It is politically situated straddling the borders of counties Offaly, Galway and Roscommon, with the majority of the population living east of the bridge in County Offaly. It has a population of approximately 600, and is predominantly low rise and low-density.

Tullamore is a town in County Offaly, Ireland, located in the midlands of the island of Ireland, with approximately 15,000 inhabitants in the district. The town's most famous export is Tullamore Dew - an Irish whiskey previously distilled by Tullamore Distillery - that can be traced back to 1829. The distillery closed in the 1950s but its traces are still visible in the town.
