| Surrey is a county in the South East of England
and is one of the Home Counties. The county borders Greater London, Kent,
East Sussex, West Sussex, Hampshire, and Berkshire. The historic county town
is Guildford. Surrey County Council sits at Kingston upon Thames, although
this has been part of Greater London since 1965. Surrey is divided into 11
boroughs and districts: Elmbridge, Epsom and Ewell, Guildford, Mole Valley,
Reigate and Banstead, Runnymede, Spelthorne, Surrey Heath, Tandridge,
Waverley, Woking.
Addlestone is a town in the Runnymede Borough of Surrey. Immediate surrounding towns and villages include Weybridge, Ottershaw, Chertsey, and New Haw. It is near Junction 11 of the M25 motorway and is served by Addlestone railway station on the Chertsey Branch Line. The M25 motorway passes to the west of the town. Ashford is a town in the Surrey borough of Spelthorne in England. It is a suburban development situated 15 miles (24 km) west south-west of Charing Cross in London and forms part of the London commuter belt. Camberley is a town in
Surrey, situated 31 miles (50 km) southwest of central London, in the
corridor between the M3 and M4 motorways. The town lies close to the borders
of both Hampshire and Berkshire; the boundaries intersect on the western
edge of the town where all three counties converge. Camberley's suburbs
include Crawley Hill, Heatherside, Yorktown, Old Dean and Frimley Road
district. Epsom is a town in the borough of Epsom and Ewell in Surrey, England, to the south of Greater London. The town is located 18 miles south-south-west of Charing Cross, and forms part of the suburbia that surrounds London. The town lies on the chalk downland of Epsom Downs. Farnham is a small town in
Surrey. Its railway station is on the Alton Line, which provides commuter
links to London at Waterloo. The A31 Farnham bypass links the town by road
to Winchester, Alton and Guildford, and the A325 links the town to the A3
(London-Portsmouth) at Greatham. Because of its long human history, it is
known as one of the most haunted towns in England. Haslemere is a town in Surrey, close to the border with both Hampshire and West Sussex. The major road between London and Portsmouth, the A3, lies to the west, and a branch of the River Wey to the south. Haslemere is approximately fifteen kilometres south west of Guildford. Horley is a town in Surrey, situated south of the twin towns of Reigate and Redhill, and north of Gatwick Airport and Crawley. With fast links by train to London from Horley railway station, it has grown popular with commuters in recent years. Reigate is a historic market town in Surrey, at the foot of the North Downs, and in the London commuter belt. It is one of the main constituents of the Borough of Reigate and Banstead. Reigate and the adjacent town of Redhill form a single urban area. Colley Hill, one mile north of Reigate, is the sixth highest point in Surrey at 756 feet (230 metres). Reigate Hill, one mile to the east of Colley Hill, is the seventh highest point in Surrey at 723 feet (220 metres). Shepperton is a town in
Surrey in the borough of Spelthorne, in England. To the South it is bounded
by the river Thames at Desborough Island and is bisected by the M3 motorway. Walton-On-Thames is a town in
the Elmbridge borough of Surrey in South East England. Woking is a large town and civil parish that shares its name with the surrounding local government district, located in the west of Surrey. It functions as a dormitory town of the London commuter belt and is located 23 miles (37 km) south west of Charing Cross in central London.
