The Humber Bridge, a road-only bridge, and part of the A15, links Hessle, west of Hull, with Barton-upon-Humber in Lincolnshire. West of this the next crossing of the river (the Ouse at this point) are three bridges near Goole, a railway bridge, the M62 bridge and the A614. Humberside Airport, is located in Lincolnshire

Beverley is a market town and civil parish in the East Riding of Yorkshire. It is also the county town of the riding. It is situated 8 miles north of Kingston upon Hull, 10 miles east of Market Weighton and 12 miles west of Hornsea. According to the 2001 UK census, Beverley parish had a population of 17,549 and the built-up area a total of 29,210.
It is best known for Beverley Minster and its race course, and also for Beverley Friary and a fine medieval church, St Mary's, reflecting its former status as a wealthy wool-trading town.

Bridlington is a town and civil parish in the East Riding of Yorkshire. It has a population of over 32,000. Bridlington is a seaside resort and minor seaport on the North Sea coast. It lies just south of the promontory of Flamborough Head. It is served by Bridlington railway station which is on the Yorkshire Coast Line that runs between Hull and Scarborough.

Brough is a small town in the civil parish of Elloughton-cum-Brough in the East Riding of Yorkshire. The town has a population of around 7000. It is located on the northern bank of the River Humber, approximately 12 miles west of Hull city centre. The town is served by Brough railway station on the Hull to Selby and Doncaster railway line.

Cottingham is a village in the East Riding of Yorkshire. It lies just to the north-west of the city of Kingston upon Hull. With a population of 17,263 (2001 UK census) Cottingham claims to be the largest village in England; although this is contended by Ashington in Northumberland and Lancing, West Sussex.

Driffield, also known as Great Driffield, is a market town and civil parish in the East Riding of Yorkshire, England. Other English towns and villages of this name include Little Driffield and Driffield, Gloucestershire. Driffield lies in the Yorkshire Wolds, on the Driffield Navigation (canal), and near the source of the River Hull. Driffield lies on the A614, A166 and B1249, and on the Yorkshire Coast rail line from Bridlington to Hull.

Hornsea is a small seaside resort town in the East Riding of Yorkshire, at the eastern end of the Trans Pennine Trail. It is well known for its pottery factory, Hornsea Pottery. It has many coastal defences such as sea walls, groynes and beach nourishment. Despite these defences, Hornsea's primarily cliff-based shoreline is eroding at one of the fastest known rates in Europe.

Kingston upon Hull,  often shortened to Hull, is a city surrounded by the East Riding of Yorkshire. It is located on the north bank of the Humber estuary, near England's east coast 25 miles (40 km) from the North Sea, on both sides of the River Hull at its junction with the Humber.

Keyingham is a village and civil parish in the East Riding of Yorkshire, England. The village is located approximately 10 miles east of Kingston upon Hull city centre and lies on the A1033 road. According to the 2001 UK census, Keyingham parish had a population of 2,302.

Kirk Ella is a village in the East Riding of Yorkshire, and is located around five miles west of the city of Kingston upon Hull. Together with West Ella it forms the civil parish of Kirk Ella and West Ella. Kirk Ella is surrounded to the east by the neighbouring villages of Willerby and Anlaby, to the north also by Willerby, and to the west by West Ella and Swanland. To the south lie a few miles of agricultural land, before the town of Hessle.

Market Weighton is a small town and civil parish in the East Riding of Yorkshire. It is one of the main market towns in the East Yorkshire Wolds and lies midway between Hull and York, about 20 miles from either one. According to the 2001 UK census, Market Weighton parish had a population of 5,212.

North Ferriby is a village and civil parish in the East Riding of Yorkshire. It is situated on the north bank of the River Humber, approximately 8 miles to the west of Hull city centre. To the north, atop a hill, lies Swanland. South Ferriby is directly opposite the village, on the south bank of the Humber. North Ferriby is generally referred to as plain Ferriby by locals on the north bank, except where confusion might arise.

Roos is a village in the East Riding of Yorkshire. It is situated 12 miles east of Kingston upon Hull city centre and 3½ miles north west of Withernsea on the B1242 road. The civil parish is formed by the villages of Roos and Tunstall together with the hamlets of Hilston and Owstwick. According to the 2001 UK census, Roos parish had a population of 1,113.

Withernsea, population around 6000, is a seaside resort town in the East Riding of Yorkshire, which forms the focal point for a wider community of small villages in Holderness. Its most famous landmark is the white inland lighthouse, rising around 127 feet (38 m) above Hull Road. The lighthouse — no longer active — now houses a museum to 1950s actress Kay Kendall who was born in the town. According to the 2001 UK census, Withernsea parish had a population of 5,980.
